The School Building Needs Help
Our school has many problems that we need to address. I'll start with
the windows. The windows are no good. They have bullet holes in them.
At one time they were probably shot out when all the gangs shot at
each other. But that's not it. There are a lot of other problems in
our school and they need to be addressed.
The windows are a big problem for Byrd School. Not only are there
bullet holes, but cracks too. Also you can barely see through them
because they were made out of bullet proof plastic windows. The
problem is that they are so old they are no longer bullet proof
anymore. They are tinted so people can't see out of them. The windows
have some crazy stuff and tape all over them to cover up the cracks.
Guess what, the windows are not efficient either because they are no
good. They are no good becuase they have air blowing from the
outside. It affects learning because it is uncomfortable and
emabrrassing to the school, teachers, and students are
uncompfortable.
The second thing is the restroom. They are filthy, messy, and also
have leaky sinks. There are NO stalls doors that means usually no
privacy. But I think it was the school's fault this all happened. Some
say it was a hospital but I don't believe that. The walls are old,
rusty, and covered with spitballs. I think a new school would be much
better than the school we have. It is important to have nice
restrooms becuase if a guest comes they are not going to like it.
Also the bathrooms do not have soap or paper towels or even garbage
cans. It is always dirty. The ceiling is even falling in. This is not
right for a school to have.
I really think the school building needs help. I thought the
principal and the assistant principal could fix the problems and they
tried, but it is not good enough. To fix all the problems we really
need a whole new school. Jenner got the new school before us because
their ceiling had pipes that were falling down. They also ate in the
basement and had mice down there. Every time we ask the construction
worker they say they have no money. What I think should be done is to
go march around saying we want a new school then the constrution
worker will finally help us.
