A New School for Byrd
We need to get a new school in our neighborhood. The threee main
reasons are because of the gym, the bathrooms, and the water
fountains. These are important because if these are not good you
cannot learn.
One reason we need a new school building is because we do not have
our own gym and we are borrowing Seward Park's gym for our gym time.
We should not have to walk in the cold to the next building for gym.
Also our school is far apart from the gym.
The bathrooms are dirty and disgusting. We need a new school because
we do not have all of our doors. We have leaking sinks. We do not
have any soap or paper towels to dry off our hands. As an example we
are going to bring some pictures to show you what our school looks
like. We have bugs and roaches crawling on the sink and on the floor
and even in the toilet! It is important to have good bathrooms so
that a kid won't get hurt and can be clean.
Another reason we need a new school because when we go to the water
fountains we always get hot water. It's dirty inside of the water
fountains. As an example, I am going to ask you to come to the school
and see for yourself. Sometimes we get cold water but that's only
downstairs. There is even a water fountain missing. This is not safe
because we have little kids in the school that can get hurt on the
pipes.
That's why we need a new school. We need a new school because when
you come to this school you come to learn but you can't because it
doesn't have everything you need. Come to the school to see and you
will say, "No way my child is coming to this school!" That
is if you have kids.
