what I think about the project citizen is a very good thang for 5th grade to be doing. I am going to be talking to rev. sloss to day maybe he could help use get a new school because he even now that this school need to be re.built or need to be re.placed because he say the bath rooms are so bda that when you walk in there you can slipe on the floor cause they have linking sink and water be flowing form the siling.

I really think that this is a great thing that we are doing because it keep use out of been in the building and standing around why the ganebangre are standing in the buliding and selling drugs.

It's a good thing that my teacher have use doing this but gusse what he is not evening telling use to do this we took this big chance on are on and know we have to finsh it on are on.And we are doing a good job so far and i think we could do it and we are.

I think this is a good thing because if we make a mistack and are teacher do not tell use we have a mentor and they will give use feed back on it and tell use how we did and if it don't sound write and the will tell use if we need to make changes. And it really make my teacher happy and proud of use and ween he go to a meeten he could tell them how good we are and show them are good work.

rev.sloss thinks that this school does need to be replace

what disagreements about this policy,if any our community?

rev.sloss thinks that if you put litcal proshet on the school building then we will.

Where can I or my class get more information about this problem and the different positions people take on the problem?

rev.sloss thinks we need to go to shane mave and miceal schoot and a trip to city hall.

When we interviewed Rev. Sloss I felt good and we ask him to come back and he sayed he was going to bring two more people with him that can help ues get a new school and put use in the news paper and i cant waite to i get to interviewed some on else.

1. When you talk to other people you need to ask them can they help us get a new school

2. When you do petition you will take a long sheet of paper and write on the fornt of it do you think we need a new school and if they say yes i will ask them to write there name on the sheet of the paper.

3. A poll is when you ask other qusetions to other people. A servey is the same as poll.

4. A edition is a person who write a story to put it an the news paper but they will get it but they just wont put it an the news paper if they do not like it.

5. A documentor is a video that shows that the school really is a dump and it could help use get are new school. So video means the same thing as documentory

6 I am interested in a poll because you can go to other class asking people do the belive that we can get a new school and maybe we can go to others school inviting them over and cheking are school out and i really like what we are doing and i hope we get a new school.

  1. What is a petition?

    2. Why are we having people sign our petition?

    3. I felt successful with the petition becuase

    4. The easiest part of the petition was
when we get to go to the class rooms.
    5.
    This was easy because
the only thing we have to do is go to class and give them some papers for there class to file out.
    6.
The hardest part of the petition was
when you had to tell the kids to write down there name and where they live some did not know where the live and the maste up are sheets.
    7.
    This was hard because
the kids where in lower grades and the did not want to listen to any body and there teacher did not have controll of them anless she yelled.

    8. When I was petitioning, I enjoyed
going out and getting petitioni form friends and family merbers.

    9. I enjoyed it because
it was very fun and i got to go to maney class and it was in school time.

    10. When I was petitioning, I disliked it
because the groupe with miss shepard was not listen they did not late me go in and read the paper that i was about to read and the was runing the hall and runing away from her .me and kaprice did not do any of them things we were good and we listen.

    11. I dislike it because
i do not dislike it only when the do not listen and start going wild.

    12. My next steps for petitioning are
to still get people signature and to combany them with every body else and see how many we got.

To the students of room 405.

Do you realize how brave you are in fighting for what is right. Many adults do not dare voice their opinion but you all took a stand. Please don't give up the fight. Did you know that the civil rights movement in the 1960's was not just led by the adults but by the young people. One group called SNCC- Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee actually helped black people in Mississippi to win the right to vote in their state. Before the young people got involved these people weren't allowed to vote. The members of SNCC taught in a "freedom school" and helped youth and adults learn about their rights as citizens. These young people worked hard and sometimes felt like giving up but they were determined to make a difference and stand up for what was right. So stay strong, young warriors your ancestors would be very proud of you !!!
